Jos Dewing, FRGS

Jos is the founder and CEO of ExplorEarth and has worked in the expedition and small-ship adventure sector for over 20 years. He is a passionate writer who frequently contributes to travel blogs and articles and has also published a children's book. 

Growing up on the beach with a pro-scuba diver father, Jos was connected to the ocean from a very young age and has since focused his career around it. He has also been a shark fanatic since a wild encounter in New South Wales, Australia. 

Jos has travelled widely and advocates for protecting marine life, firmly believing in the power of education through destination-based encounters, citizen science, and the creation of ambassadors for the planet.

He is a keen amateur photographer and Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society in London. Jos is also an Antarctic Ambassador for IAATO, the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators. 

Besides expedition cruises, Jos doesn't go anywhere, within reason, without his golden retriever, Poppy. His path to ocean adventures included a stint in the film industry, where, among other roles, he worked as a double for James Bond in one of the movies (Tomorrow Never Dies).
