When Darkness Falls Over Greenland: The Expedition Ships Chasing the 2026 Solar Eclipse

The total solar eclipse on 12 August 2026 will bring expedition ships from HX Expeditions, Quark Expeditions, HX Expeditions, AE Expeditions, Swan Hellenic, Polar Latitudes and Lindblad Expeditions into the path of totality around East Greenland and the Denmark Strait. Key viewing areas include Scoresby Sund, King Oscar Fjord and the Blosseville Coast, although weather, sea ice and cloud cover mean some captains will determine their final viewing positions on eclipse day.
