Miranda, a biologist and trained professional diver, has been the resident wildlife expert on The One Show (BBC One) for fourteen years. She presents natural history stories from across the UK on subjects ranging from robotic ants to rare dolphins. She was also one of the original members of the COAST team (BBC Two), exploring Great Britain’s shoreline from top to toe and revealing fascinating tales of marine life. She has also presented programmes on wildlife and archaeology on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

On radio, she has presented many episodes of the popular Tweet of the Day series; also Costing the Earth and Living World, all for BBC Radio 4.

As a classical music lover and an accomplished musician, Miranda was chosen to co-present the BBC Proms in 2010. She has also presented the Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 3 and shared her Private Passions on Radio 3. She has hosted many musical events and collaborated with the City of London Sinfonia, New Bristol Sinfonia and Exeter Symphony Orchestra.

Miranda has written four books and has shared her love for wildlife and adventure in articles for the Guardian, Sunday Times magazine, Sunday Times Travel magazine, Countryfile magazine, Nature’s Home (RSPB magazine), Coast magazine, Scuba Diver, Diver, Red, Outdoor Enthusiast, BBC Wildlife, Country Walking and the National Trust magazine.

Miranda is a popular choice as a host and guest speaker for many organisations, including the National Geographical Society, the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, Global Birdfair, and the UK and Scottish Dive Show. She has also widely lectured onboard expedition and small cruise ships.

Miranda has been President of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds for nine years and is now Vice President. She is also a Patron of Whale and Dolphin Conservation, a Patron of Alderney Wildlife Trust, an honorary life Patron of the Shark Trust, and a Founding Friend of the Canal & River Trust. She is an ambassador for Project Seagrass, the Marine Conservation Society, and PADI.
