Geography

The capital city of Baja California Sur, La Paz is situated on the coast of the Sea of Cortez.

Significance

The city is famous for its stunning waterfront promenade, beautiful beaches, and as a popular location for water sports, including world-class diving, snorkelling, and kayaking. La Paz is also the gateway to Espiritu Santo Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site rich with marine life.
