Paspaley’s Ultimate Kimberley Experience brings all three together in one carefully connected journey.

Begin with two nights at El Questro Homestead, an intimate ten-suite retreat surrounded by almost 700,000 acres of East Kimberley wilderness. Continue aboard Paspaley Pearl for ten nights of small-group exploration along one of Australia’s most remote coastlines, before completing the journey in Broome, where Paspaley’s relationship with the Kimberley began more than 90 years ago.

Along the way, a dedicated scenic-flight credit allows guests to discover another perspective: aboard one of Paspaley’s remarkable Grumman Mallard flying boats, by helicopter over Mitchell Falls or through a choice of aerial experiences from El Questro.

The Paspaley family’s connection with Australia’s northern coastline began in the pearling industry more than 90 years ago. Its vessels and aircraft travelled between some of the Kimberley’s most isolated waters, while decades of navigation and local experience created a familiarity with this coastline that few contemporary expedition companies could replicate.

The Kimberley

An ancient landscape that never stands still

More than two billion years of geological history rise from the coast of northwestern Australia. Layered sandstone cliffs tower above flooded river systems, waterfalls descend through narrow gorges and hundreds of islands disappear into a coastline shaped by some of the greatest tidal movements on Earth.

A coastline written in rock

Much of the Kimberley coast remains unreachable by road. Exploring by small expedition craft makes it possible to follow rivers inland, enter hidden bays and approach the cliffs closely, responding each day to the tides, conditions and opportunities the landscape presents.

Country, culture and deep time

The Kimberley is much more than a geological spectacle. It is Country with a living cultural history extending across countless generations. Rock-art galleries, including Gwion Gwion and Wandjina traditions, preserve stories and knowledge held by the Traditional Owners of this vast region.

Its coastline is equally dynamic. Here, the tide does not simply rise and fall: it transforms the landscape. Reefs appear to emerge from the sea, channels accelerate between rock walls and places accessible in the morning can look entirely different by afternoon.

This constant movement shapes experiences at places such as Montgomery Reef and Horizontal Falls, while making local navigation knowledge central to every day of exploration.
