What is BETA?

noun

bey-tuh; or, especially British, bee- ]

: the phase of hardware or software development in which a product is tested in the environment for which it was designed

What does BETA mean on ExplorEarth.com?

You may have seen the word BETA below our logo on this site. Why? Because ExplorEarth is a brand-new website, and we are still testing some of its features. This is why the BETA note is assigned. Once we are finished, this will be removed.

As with all new websites and software, it is impossible to thoroughly test them before they are live and in open use, as is the case now. We expect the BETA phase to last for about four weeks.

During the BETA phase, we will add some new features:

  • A database of expedition and small, adventure-led ships
  • A database of expedition cruises and small-ship trips
  • Our operator and agent partner pages
  • Our matching-engine that will enable you to find the best company to book your trip
  • More features and functions to make using our site more accessible and more rewarding for our users

If you would like to discuss this with us, please use the form below to message us. Alternatively, you can keep up to date by subscribing to our weekly newsletter.

Thanks
