Peter Shanks

Peter spent 45 years in the Travel Industry before stepping down from full-time corporate life in the summer of 2025.

For the last 20 years, Peter has held several leadership roles in the cruise industry, including President of Cunard Line and, for the past 8 years, Managing Director in the UK for Silversea, where he developed his passion for all things Expedition.

Peter has travelled on Expeditions to Antarctica, South Africa, Iceland and around the UK with his many blogs and 'live video news' clips from Expedition destinations, followed by journalists, travel agents and guests. Always keen to share experiences and tips for travellers, Peter is a champion for all things Expedition.
