Karen has worked extensively in the travel industry for over 30 years, including in airlines and trains, and for the last six years, within Expedition Travel.

Her passion for adventure, travel, and the environment started when she started her first job—in the beautiful mountain town of Crans-Montana in Switzerland. Since then, she has travelled extensively to all seven continents.

Passionate about sustainability and education, Karen uses her experience to encourage travellers to learn how travel to remote places can be a force for change in how we respect and preserve our fragile environments and protect the habitats of the wildlife living in these regions.

Karen is also an Antarctic Ambassador for IAATO.

When she is not travelling, you can find Karen on her paddleboard on the North Norfolk saltmarshes or walking her two golden retrievers Breck (named after Breckenridge), and Monty (named after Crans Montana) in the Surrey countryside.
