Isabelle Howells

Isabelle is from the southwest of the UK, a place steeped in maritime tradition. She grew up sailing traditional wooden boats, which later led her to work as an expedition leader and naturalist in the expedition cruise industry. She enjoys the challenges of working in the polar regions each year in addition to warmer destinations. 

Living in Iceland, northern Norway, and Svalbard has given Isabelle a keen interest in all things Arctic, especially the wildlife, history, and local cultures.

As a sailing boat skipper, Isabelle loves the thrill of exploring these already remote regions and hopes to inspire more people to experience lesser-visited places.
