ENQUIRE

Hooded Seals are less common than other seal species and are considered vulnerable due to their low reproductive rates and solitary nature.

They are hunted for their pelts, meat, and blubber, and are vulnerable to climate change impacting their ice-dependent breeding grounds.

The reduction in ice platforms affects their ability to breed and raise pups successfully.
