Expedition overview & highlights

  • On Beechey Island, visit memorials and graves of explorers from John Franklin’s expedition
  • Hike on Devon Island, the world’s largest uninhabited island, which features stunning geology, fjords and glacial valleys to explore.
  • Meet remarkable Inuit locals whose lives in this remote part of the world are anything but ordinary.

Embark on an epic journey inspired by Roald Amundsen’s legendary expedition as we attempt to navigate the full length of the Northwest Passage. We’ll carve our path westward through the intricate maze of waterways that wind through the legendary islands of Arctic Canada, ultimately reaching the Beaufort Sea. Building on our classic Northwest Passage voyage, we’ll visit historic sites explored by brave pioneers, meet the remarkable people who call this remote region home, and search for the elusive wildlife that inhabits this extraordinary corner of the world. While pack ice may challenge our progress through the passage, prepare for a true expedition where adventure awaits at every turn.

Aurora Expeditions operates in remote and challenging environments, and in the spirit of expedition travel, we encourage you to adopt a flexible and adventurous attitude when joining our voyages. This itinerary is a guide only and is subject to change due to weather, sea state, local regulations and permitting, and other conditions beyond our control.
