8-Night Whales and Wildlife of the North Minch

Mid-summer is the ideal time to embark on a thrilling adventure focused on whales and dolphins. Warmer waters bring plankton blooms, drawing in fish and the cetaceans that follow them. We’ll aim to see Minke Whales, Harbour Porpoises, and playful Common Dolphins, which often race alongside the Hjalmar Bjørge. Basking sharks also migrate north with the plankton, and seeing one of these 8-meter giants is unforgettable. From the vessel’s high viewing decks, we’ll keep an eye out for seabirds, from gannets and shearwaters to rare skuas, with the possibility of spotting White-tailed and Golden Eagles. Each evening, we anchor in serene locations, savouring the sunset with a glass of wine or whisky, feeling like we have the islands to ourselves.
