Continue to Sisimiut, a colourful town steeped in Arctic traditions, and marvel at the natural beauty of Disko Island with its striking basalt cliffs and sweeping glaciers. Conclude your adventure in Nuuk, from where you’ll fly back to Reykjavík, carrying memories of Greenland’s raw beauty and extraordinary wilderness.

Map & Cruise Itinerary

Reykjavík, Iceland

This tour explores the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago off Iceland's south coast, renowned for its volcanoes, puffin colonies, and Viking history. You'll hike up Eldvötn and visit the Eldheimar Volcano Museum, learning about the devastating impact of the 1973 eruption. You'll also explore the "city" neighbourhoods buried by the volcano and witness the resilience and history of local reconstruction. Every summer, the islands attract birdwatchers, especially those fascinated by the blooming lupine flowers.

Days at sea are always fulfilling and full of surprises. As you sail across the Denmark Strait, you'll enjoy breathtaking seascapes under the phenomenon of midnight sun, with the sun still high in the sky. Informative expert lectures and insights from your expedition team will introduce you to the natural geography, wildlife, and history of your next stop, Greenland.

Greenland boasts the world's second-largest ice sheet. Every spring, as temperatures gradually rise, the edges of the ice sheet begin to melt, and large chunks of ice break off, transforming into icebergs and floating ice that drift southward on the ocean currents to Prince Christian Sound. A crisscross of glaciers intertwines with the azure waters, creating towering mountains that resemble a natural ice sculpture gallery. The peaks on both sides of the glacier are perpetually capped with snow, and icebergs of various shapes drift on the sea, resembling a flowing "river of snow."

Northwest of Prince Christian Sound, we'll enter the approximately 70-kilometre-long Tasermiut Fjord, known for its towering granite peaks as the "Patagonia of the Arctic." Weather permitting, our journey will include our first landfall in Greenland.

Hvalsey, located in the Eastern Colony region of southern Greenland, is renowned for its best-preserved Norse ruins. Once a significant medieval Norse settlement in Greenland, it remains a key location for the study of Viking history. We will visit the renowned Hvalsey Church, built in the early 14th century. It is Greenland's best-preserved medieval architectural monument and a precious historical mark left by the Norse in the Americas. The fjords, mountains, and lush green meadows surrounding the site contrast strikingly against the icy backdrop of the Arctic Ocean, making it an ideal location to experience the charm of Greenland's nature and culture.

Paamiut, a charming and unassuming town on Greenland's southwest coast, is renowned for its abundant wildlife and unique cultural history. It's home to Greenland's largest concentration of white-tailed eagles. Rich in history, its brightly painted old houses tell fascinating stories of whaling and the fur trade. Beyond the town centre, you'll be greeted by a network of ancient trails that lead to remote, rarely explored areas of Greenland.

We woke up early in the morning to find ourselves within the Arctic Circle. Sisimiut, Greenland's second-largest town, lies at 63 degrees north latitude. The town is famous for its ancient blue church, whose doors are crafted from whale bones. Next to the church is a museum recreating an Inuit turf house, showcasing valuable exhibits on local history and early Greenlandic life.

Sisimiut describes itself as "rough, authentic, and remote." Hike through the bustling modern town and deeper into the stunning mountains, where the scenery becomes increasingly spectacular. The towering mountains and cascading rock formations provide prime vantage points.

Ilulissat, known as the "birthplace of icebergs," is a must-see destination for countless travellers. Located adjacent to the magnificent Ilulissat Icefjord, this charming town has earned UNESCO World Heritage status. Home to some of the world's most prolific glaciers, massive icebergs calve year-round, drifting and stranding in Disko Bay, creating a breathtaking and enduring natural spectacle.

We will slowly walk along the wooden plank road, facing the floating giant icebergs, and overlook the panoramic view of the Iceberg Fjord that looks like a sea of clouds on the hillside. At this moment, you can't help but sigh: This place is worthy of being called the "King of Icebergs" on the earth, and it is also a true paradise on earth.

The Ilulissat Icefjord continuously transports massive icebergs into Disko Bay, creating a spectacular spectacle of towering icebergs and floating icebergs. We'll explore these rarely visited waters by Zodiac, and with luck, we might even spot migrating whales, who often use this area as a summer refuge.

Here, magnificent nature and rich culture intertwine: hike through basalt mountains, gaze at the spectacular scenery of the plateaus and fjords, and experience the unique imprint of Inuit culture. Disko Bay is not only a wonder of glaciers and geology, but also an excellent stage to appreciate the charm of Greenland's nature and culture.

Eternity Fjord, one of Greenland's most beautiful fjords, has been described by explorers as "breathtaking" and "awe-inspiring." As a classic glacial fjord, it's a masterpiece of millennia of glacial erosion, with deep channels and steep cliffs interplaying beautifully. Towering mountains and cliffs surround the fjord, their perpetually snow-capped peaks creating a spectacular glacial landscape. Composed primarily of granite and gneiss, the landscape has developed unique geomorphic features through long periods of geological evolution.

Within the fjord, you may encounter numerous small glaciers. The spectacular icebergs created by calving glaciers float on the water, creating works of natural art. In this tranquil world, the occasional thunder of calving glaciers shatters the stillness, echoing through every valley and adding to the mystical atmosphere. Whether you're birdwatching, exploring polar life, cruising, or simply enjoying the stunning natural scenery, Everfjord promises an unforgettable polar adventure.
