Three Arctic Islands on the Seaventure

Begin your adventure in Iceland, just above 60°N, and journey north through the remote Jan Mayen Island, rising from the Arctic Ocean, before reaching the breathtaking Svalbard Ice Edge at 80°N. Cross the Arctic Circle and experience an extraordinary range of landscapes—from verdant fjords to glistening realms of ice.

Encounter the unexpected in the wild north. Watch puffins take flight, seals bask on the ice, walruses gather along the shore, and—if fortune smiles—polar bears patrol the frozen expanse. Here, life reveals itself in its most untouched and elemental form.

North of 80°N, the sea ice begins to melt and stretch endlessly to the horizon. This fleeting season is when the polar world bursts into life, offering unmatched opportunities for exploration and wonder.

Delve deeper into the Arctic through captivating lectures led by experts. Topics include the history of exploration, Arctic flora and fauna, geology and oceanography, sea ice and glaciers, marine mammals and birds, as well as local culture, history, and climate.

Map & Cruise Itinerary

Day 1 - hotel stay before boarding your ship.

You'll have free time to explore the world's northernmost capital before boarding your ship in the afternoon. Reykjavík is one of the world's happiest cities, with candy-coloured houses dotting the streets. The city ends at the azure sea, and the snow-capped mountains in the distance are majestic. A rainbow path leads directly to the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Cathedral. Every step you take is filled with scenery.

In the afternoon, the bus will take you to the pier to prepare to board the Poseidon and start your wonderful journey.

Located in northwestern Iceland, the Westfjords, jutting out on three sides into the Greenland Sea, are one of Iceland's most remote and least visited regions. They are renowned for their unusual fjord landscape, where steep mountains plunge into the sea, creating a unique and mysterious Nordic landscape.

Depending on weather and sea conditions, as well as the decisions of the Captain and Expedition Leader, we will have the opportunity to visit:

Vigur Island is home to flocks of eider ducks, robins, black-backed gulls and cute puffins, and seals often rest lazily on the rocks.

Djúpavík , the ruins of the former herring processing factory stand deep in the fjord, silently telling the story of its past prosperity and decline.

Drangsnes is a seaside town where natural geothermal springs add a touch of warmth to the tranquil fjord.

Located in northern Iceland, majestic fjords, rolling hills, and steep cliffs intertwine to create a magnificent natural landscape. A large number of seabirds, such as puffins and cormorants, nest on the steep cliffs and fly in constant circles.

Depending on weather and sea conditions, as well as the decisions of the Captain and Expedition Leader, we will have the opportunity to visit:

Malmey , land on this remote island and explore hidden paths and cliffs surrounded by seabirds.

Drangey Island : Cruise along the majestic rocky cliffs, seabirds circling, and the towering rock formations present a magnificent landscape unique to northern Iceland.

Visit Hofsós , a tranquil village by the fjord, where you can wander its peaceful streets, learn about traditional crafts, and experience the unique charm of this northern Icelandic community.

Located at 66°33′ north latitude, the moment you step foot on this small island, you enter the Arctic Circle. Puffins nest in the cliffs, and the island's most popular attraction is the Arctic Circle marker: a symbolic dividing line and a perfect photo spot. The 7-ton spherical sculpture "Orbus et Globus" stands here, slightly adjusted annually to the actual latitude of the Arctic Circle, becoming a unique symbol of Grimsey Island.

Sail north to 71°N. Jan Mayen Island, nestled in the heart of the Arctic Ocean, is known as one of the world's loneliest islands. The air is perpetually shrouded in smog, and patches of hardy vegetation sprout on the black sandy beaches, thriving in the harsh environment. With no permanent residents, only the occasional scientific expedition, this place creates a unique, secluded scene.

When weather permits, we will take a zodiac and, under the guidance of our expedition team, land on this uninhabited island to experience the isolated Arctic wilderness firsthand.

At Sea

Belsund Fjord is located on the southwest coast of Svalbard, showing typical Arctic scenery, with snow-capped mountains, glaciers and tundra intertwined. Busy seabirds live on the cliffs on the west side, and Arctic foxes and reindeer are commonly seen on the tundra.

This was once an important whaling area on Spitsbergen in the 17th century, and the remains of mining areas from the early 20th century can still be seen today, where Arctic wilderness and historical relics complement each other.

Aboard the top-rated ice-resistant vessel, Poseidon, we'll journey into Earth's northernmost wilderness—the ice edge north of Svalbard—for a true polar adventure. Here, a pristine world of vast ice floes, deep azure waters, and the midnight sun blends seamlessly. Tracking polar bears will be a thrilling part of our journey. Weather and ice conditions permitting, we'll even venture into the vast waters above 80 degrees north latitude.

This seemingly desolate, icy sea is a secret paradise of Arctic life: whales paddle the surface, seals laze on ice floes, and walruses playfully play on the shore. The most breathtaking moment is the search for the Arctic's dominant polar bear. Joining the expedition team on a bear-hunting voyage imbues this polar adventure with pure wild charm and unparalleled anticipation.

Once a mining town on the Svalbard archipelago, Ny-Ålesund serves as the gateway to the Arctic. It served as the starting point for many renowned explorers. It attracts researchers from around the world year-round, resulting in numerous research stations from various countries specialising in glaciology, wildlife, and climate change.

Our country's Yellow River Station was built here. Don't miss the museum and the famous post office, considered the northernmost post office in the world!

The Arctic Trio's polar cruise will conclude today. In the morning, the Poseidon will dock in Longyearbyen, the capital of the Svalbard archipelago.

We will transfer you to the airport for your return charter flight to Oslo, Norway. Please arrange your itinerary based on your flight arrival time in Oslo.

Information about the charter flights will be announced in March 2026. We strongly recommend that you stay one night in Oslo after your charter flight.
