Glensanda

Geography

Glensanda is a remote coastal quarry on the Morvern Peninsula, accessible only by sea, making it one of the most unique industrial sites in Scotland, hidden amidst some of the country's most pristine landscapes.

Significance

It's one of Europe's largest granite quarries, noteworthy for its minimal environmental footprint and the logistical marvel of transporting materials directly by ship.

Attractions

The surrounding untouched wilderness and the operation of the quarry itself, which, while primarily industrial, offers a glimpse into a rarely seen aspect of the Scottish Highlands.

Activities

Viewing the quarry from the sea provides an unusual perspective on Scotland's industrial activities amidst natural beauty. The area is also a starting point for expeditions into the wild and unspoiled parts of the Morvern Peninsula.
