Significance

The second-largest town in Greenland, Sisimiut’s modern Greenlandic life is balanced by traditional hunting and fishing practices.

Geography

Located just north of the Arctic Circle, Sisimiut offers sea, mountain and tundra landscapes.

Attractions 

The Sisimiut Museum features exhibits relating to local history and culture. 

Activities

Outdoor activities include hiking the Arctic Circle Trail, kayaking, and exploring the backcountry by snowmobile or dog sledging.
