Significance

One of the most remote settlements on Earth, Ittoqqortoormiit is close to the untouched Northeast Greenland National Park.

Geography

Situated on the eastern coast of Greenland, near the entrance to Scoresby Sound, the world's largest fjord system.

Attractions & Activities

Dog sledging and snowmobiling in winter, boat trips in Scoresby Sound during summer to see the icebergs and spot wildlife including musk oxen or polar bears. The Ittoqqortoormiit Museum has historic exhibits relating to local traditions.
