Sisimiut (Greenland)

Geography

As Greenland's second-largest town, Sisimiut is situated just north of the Arctic Circle on the west coast. It blends modern living with traditional Arctic culture, set against a backdrop of mountains and sea.

Significance

Sisimiut is an important cultural and economic centre in Greenland, offering a mix of year-round Arctic experiences. Its historical sites and community life provide a deeper understanding of Greenlandic culture and the challenges of Arctic living.
Attractions: The Sisimiut Museum is located inside some historical colonial buildings and the town is also a starting or ending point for the Arctic Circle Trail, attracting hikers from around the world.
