St. Andrews Bay

Geography

Situated on the northern coast of South Georgia, St. Andrews Bay is framed by towering mountains and the massive Heaney Glacier, featuring one of the island's largest sandy beaches.

Significance

The bay is renowned for being home to the largest king penguin colony in South Georgia.

Attractions

The sight of hundreds of thousands of king penguins along with elephant seals and fur seals makes the bay a wildlife enthusiast's paradise.
