Geography

A stunning harbour on the southeast coast of South Georgia, surrounded by cliffs and glaciers, and teeming with wildlife.

Significance

Named for the sunrise and sunset that bathes the cliffs in a golden glow, the harbour is a hotspot for biodiversity.

Attractions

Home to a large king penguin colony, elephant seals, and the backdrop of the Bertrab Glacier.
