Expert Lectures

Many consider the lecture program onboard an expedition ship as the glue that holds the whole experience together.

Expedition ships will have various people on board who will deliver talks and lectures throughout the voyage. These will usually occur at the end of the day and after dinner. It is a time to bring the whole ship together and discuss the experiences and learnings of the day, along with briefing and discussions on what is coming next.

Experts who have joined the expedition team for that cruise, such as marine biologists, geologists, orthinologists, and photographers, along with the expedition team themselves, will give lectures and talks.

Ornithology Lecture

Lectures after a day's exploration often hold the key to understanding more about the experiences and encounters of the day and also what is still to come. Here a lecturer outlines the seabirds and how to differentiate them.

Activity Considerations

There are no medical considerations for expert lectures as they will all take place on the ship in the comfort of the lecture theatre, library or other public area.

There will be no additional cost for the lecture program, which will always be included in your fare. Occasionally, special interest groups may have their own guest speakers and guides, which may be exclusive to that group, but most ships will encourage groups to be open.
